A Celtic Prayer

Christ be with you, Christ within you
Christ behind you, Christ before you
Christ beside you, Christ to win you
Christ to comfort and restore you
Christ beneath you, Christ above you
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger
Christ in hearts of all that love you
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

-- used at the funeral of my friend's brother

exactly . . . i had a choice between a very familiar scripture and this and when i asked a dear friend for an opinion she said, "they know what the scripture says and they aren't going to hear those words in quite the same way as these new (yet ancient) ones you're giving them" so i opted for st. pat!
